AI Murder Mystery Game

Veritas · Updated July 2026

An AI murder mystery game puts you inside a case that no one has solved before — because it was generated minutes ago. The suspects have secrets. Some of them are lying. One of them is a killer. Your job is to figure out which one before the evidence goes cold.

Veritas is built on that premise, taken seriously. Every case is constructed by a multi-agent AI pipeline that writes the crime, checks it for logical consistency, and verifies that the solution is reachable before the game starts. What you get is not a scripted puzzle with a hidden answer — it is a live deduction problem with a unique answer that only you can uncover.

How the AI Works

When you start a case, three things are true:

The suspects are played by individual AI agents, each with a private memory of what they know, what they did, and what they are hiding. When you ask a question, the suspect reasons against their own knowledge state — not against a script. The killer will lie. Innocent suspects may also lie, but about different things. The difference is in the specificity of the contradiction.

What Makes It Different

Most mystery games online are interactive fiction: a branching story with a fixed killer and dialogue written in advance. Replaying reveals the same information in a different order. There is nothing to deduce — only things to discover.

Veritas is not that. The case did not exist before you loaded the page. The suspects do not have pre-written answers. When the killer tells you they were home all evening, they are generating that alibi in context — and the gap in it is something you can find by cross-referencing what another suspect says, or what the physical evidence shows.

That is what makes it feel like real deduction rather than puzzle-solving.

Getting Started

No account is required to play. Open the game, select a case, and begin your investigation. When you are ready to accuse, name the suspect and explain your reasoning. The game will tell you if you are right — and show you exactly what you missed if you are not.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an AI murder mystery game?
An AI murder mystery game is an online detective experience where artificial intelligence generates unique cases, plays the suspects, and responds dynamically to your questions. Unlike scripted mystery games, the suspects have no fixed dialogue tree — they reason, deflect, and sometimes lie based on the evidence you have uncovered.
Is Veritas free to play?
Yes. No account required to start your first investigation. You can interrogate suspects, collect evidence, and make your accusation without signing up. A free account lets you save your detective record and access additional cases.
How does the AI generate murder mystery cases?
Each case is built by a multi-agent AI system: one agent writes the crime, a second reviews it for logical consistency, and a third verifies every clue leads to a solvable conclusion. The result is a case where exactly one suspect is guilty, one motive is true, and every piece of evidence has a reason to exist.
Can the AI suspects actually lie to you?
Yes. The guilty suspect will construct false alibis. Innocent suspects may lie about unrelated things to avoid scrutiny. The AI tracks what you know and adjusts its responses accordingly, so the same question asked at different points in the investigation can yield different answers.
How long does one game take?
Most cases take between 20 and 45 minutes. Beginner cases can be solved in under 20 minutes. Expert cases with four or more suspects typically take 35 to 50 minutes for a first playthrough.
Is every case solvable without guessing?
Yes. Every case is built on a Fair-Play guarantee: all evidence needed to identify the killer is available through interrogation. If you are stuck, there is always an untested question or an unexamined clue that will break the case open.
How is Veritas different from other murder mystery games online?
Most online murder mystery games use fixed scripts — the solution is the same every time and there are walkthroughs. Veritas generates each case from scratch, which means suspects reason in real time, no two cases are identical, and no walkthrough exists.
Do I need to install anything to play?
No. Veritas runs entirely in your browser — desktop or mobile. No download, no app store, no plugin required.
