Terms of Service
1. Who We Are
Veritas ("the Service," "we," "us") is an AI-driven murder mystery deduction game available at veritascase.com. The Service is operated by an individual seller:

Payments for the Service are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), acting as our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, invoicing, and payment collection on our behalf. Paddle's own terms (the "Buyer Terms," available at paddle.com) govern the payment transaction itself; these Terms of Service govern your use of the Veritas game and website.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase or subscribe to Veritas. The Service is intended for users located in the United States. By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. The Service
Veritas offers:
- Single Case purchase — a one-time payment granting permanent access to one specific case.
- Veritas Pro subscription — a recurring monthly subscription granting access to the full case library, including new cases added during your subscription, subject to a monthly usage cap (currently 60 case sessions per billing period) and a per-session interaction limit.
We may add, remove, or modify cases, features, or usage limits at any time. Where changes materially reduce the value of an active Pro subscription, we will make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers in advance.
4. Account & Acceptable Use
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to:
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or systematically scrape the underlying AI models or case-generation system;
- Use automated tools to exhaust free-tier limits or abuse the interrogation mechanic;
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes on others' rights.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Payments & Subscriptions
- All prices are displayed in USD and are shown on our Pricing page prior to checkout.
- Veritas Pro renews automatically each month until canceled. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or via the Paddle-hosted customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Taxes may apply and will be calculated at checkout based on your location.

6. Intellectual Property
All case content, game mechanics, AI-generated dialogue, branding, and site design are the property of the Service operator unless otherwise noted. Purchasing a Single Case or subscribing to Pro grants you a personal, non-transferable license to access and play that content — it does not transfer ownership or grant rights to redistribute, publish, or commercially exploit case content.
7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Veritas uses AI models to generate case narratives and simulate suspect interrogations. While cases are designed to be internally logically consistent ("fair-play"), AI-generated content may occasionally contain inconsistencies. We do not guarantee that AI suspect responses will be error-free.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
